The leafy greens in this smoothie (spinach, romaine and kale) are full of vitamins A, B, C, and K, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. All of this helps boost our immune system and increase energy.
Spirulina is another super ingredient in the smoothie. This blue-green algae contains B vitamins and iron that add more awesome feel-good energy goodness.
To top it all off, I sprinkled bee pollen on top, which also contains energizing (can you guess?!) B vitamins!
I hope you enjoy!
- Handful of spinach
- 3 leaves of romaine lettuce
- 2 leaves red kale
- 1 tablespoon date paste*
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 teaspoon Sunwarrior Super Greens
- 1 teaspoon spirulina
- 1/2 tablespoon bee pollen
- 1/2 cup coconut milk**
- 1/2 cup filtered water**
- Handful of ice
Blend all ingredients until smooth and top with a sprinkle of bee pollen.
*To make date paste combine 1 cup pitted dates with 1 cup filtered water. Blend until smooth. The past should keep in the fridge for about a week to two weeks. It’s a great way to add sweeter to your smoothies without using refined sugars.
**You can use 1 cup coconut milk or almond milk instead of water. Add more or less liquid depending on preferred consistency.
