As I write this we are on the road this Christmas day to visit family. It’s been a whirlwind of presents, family, and friends these past few days and we are loving every minute (albeit, am bit tired)! There is so much I love about this time of year. The gift giving, the lights, decorations, sweater weather, and cookie baking. Most of all, time with our family.
I really do love giving gifts and so I made a festive smoothie for all of you! You know I love my greens, so it’s packed with energizing greens to keep you going and ready for all your holiday parties. The goji berries add a healthy dose of antioxidants to help boost your immune system and ward of any nasty bugs you may encounter during your holiday travels.
It may not have the typical Christmas flavor, but it’s got Christmas flare. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Recipe: (serves 1)
- 3 cups almond milk
- 1 banana
- 3-5 leaves of romaine
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
- 1 teaspoon spirulina
- 1 scoop protein powder of choice (pea protein and/or fermented protein)
- 1-2 teaspoon matcha
- 1-2 teaspoon cinnamon
- handful of ice
- top with goji berries
Blend everything together, except goji berries, until smooth. Top with goji berries and enjoy!
